Morning (Nagoya-Style Breakfasts)
Nagoya styled Morning breakfasts originated in Ichinomiya or Toyohashi, and soon spread across the suburbs.
Morning
Mornings are a coffee shop service available mainly during the morning, where, toast and a hard boiled egg are provided free of charge when you order a drink. The practice is particularly widespread in Aichi Prefecture, and greatly anticipated by travelers and people on business trips. The service is so famous that it is recognized as a genre of Nagoya Meshi. In suburban Owari and Mikawa areas, extra foods are often provided.

Origin
The service is said to have begun in Ichinomiya in the 60’s when regular customers from the booming textiles industry were offered toast and peanuts. At around the same time, Toyohashi cafés began serving similar fare to customers who had just finished factory night duty shifts.
Availability
Morning is found across the prefecture, and the word has come to mean all extra café services offered in general. Some coffee shops provide “All-day Morning”
Morning
Aichi Prefecture has the second largest number of coffee shops nationally at 9,000 shops, and so competition is high. ‘Morning’ is a way for competing shops to differentiate themselves.
